The Effort

The Emerald Coast Conservation Effort (ECCE), headquartered in Pensacola, FL, is now serving the communities and environment of the Gulf Coast region. Comprised of idealistic and informed citizens, the ECCE was formed in response to the consistent disregard for, and degradation of the natural environment.

Prolific development and consumer culture have resulted in an unsustainable system that will eventually result in ecological and social collapse. Disasters such as the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill are only the intial results of such a system, and it is our responsiblity to both mitigate the negative impacts of our actions and seek to reform the more destructive practices of our society.
